Poetry Pleases: Images Of Love

...There are feelings in my fingertips that remind me of you.
The satin of your shoulder that makes me want to cry...

Brian Lockett's poem tells of the images of love which, though they may fade, never disappear.

There are pictures in my mind that remind me of you.
The hair that flows like golden wine over the rumpled pillow,
The knee that shyly peeps from beneath a pure white sheet,
The hand that lies in mine like a happy, captive butterfly.

There are sounds in my head that remind me of you.
The song that switches on the kitchen every day,
The laughter that cascades from the top of the stairs,
The sigh of contentment that dreams are made of.

There are feelings in my fingertips that remind me of you.
The satin of your shoulder that makes me want to cry,
The warmth of your breast that takes my breath away,
The softness of your lips that part as I touch.

The images fade, of course,
But they always return.
