Feather's Miscellany: Overseas Aid

John Waddington-Featherís poem goes to the very heart of what it is to be Christian.

We watch the gourmets on T.V.
While others starve and die.
Lord, give us grace to dig more deep
And their dire needs supply.

We spend vast sums on armaments
To wage vain wars abroad;
Then place our mites upon the plate
we claim we canít afford.

So rich in wealth, so poor in soul,
The gap grows wide each year.
Lord, give us all the will to give
To build your Kingdom here.
