Poetry Pleases: Pilgrimage

John Ayling's poem brings the encouraging message that we should travel on in hope.

The journey of a thousand miles
Starts with a single step.

And every step along the road
Brings nearer journey's end.

With every dawn new hope is born,
And sunset comes too soon.

Laborious it is to climb
To the mountain summit,

But far horizons beckon then
To dreams and ventures new.

So I with hope still travel on,
With feeble steps and slow,

My eyes fixed on yet future joys,
When travelling days are done.
