And in autumn's Lacrimae,
comes the loss of solstice ray,
withered leaf and shortened day,
for summer sun we long and pray.

Of driftwood beaches,
wave's gentle wash,
ripples caressing tanned skin.

Alas the ice has come,
it has hummocked and locked us in,
the boardwalk empty and frozen,
the tourists, a blustery memory.
