Sandy's Say: Lend Me Your Mind - Part 9

...for me, a telepathic message is very easy to discern from an ordinary mental thought as it is always accompanied by an electrostatic crackle in my right ear and a sense of a presence or a sudden vacuum on my left shoulder. I become aware of something interrupting the flow of air between my left ear and the rest of the environment...

Sandy James describes how she receives astonishing and sometimes disturbing clairaudient messages.

These concepts of electrical energy and vibration frequencies are very much supported by what I experience whenever I receive a clairaudient message. I am not blessed with the gift of clairvoyance so I have no visual confirmation that the spirits of the deceased exist alongside us. However, for me, a telepathic message is very easy to discern from an ordinary mental thought as it is always accompanied by an electrostatic crackle in my right ear and a sense of a presence or a sudden vacuum on my left shoulder. I become aware of something interrupting the flow of air between my left ear and the rest of the environment. It certainly feels as if the spirit wishing to communicate with me is right next to me, almost perched on my shoulder.

The clairaudient communication itself is not an actual voice but a telepathic message so overpowering and so definite that it is as if it has been branded onto my mind with a zapping sizzle. It is something which comes out of nowhere and has absolutely no relation to the easy ebb and flow of mental thoughts which I might be having at the time. In my case, the messages are invariably preceded by my full first name, as if someone is determined to get my undivided attention.

In order for a communication of any sort to take place between a spirit and a human, there has to first be an equalising of vibration frequencies i.e. the spirits have to lower theirs and we have to raise ours. I've no idea how the spirits lower their vibrations but I have learnt a way of creating a state of heightened perception where I effectively seem to be able to raise mine. It is all about intensity and intention. Be warned, if you are too successful you might trigger off an electrical appliance such as the burglar alarm, the smoke alarm or the air conditioner. This has happened to me on a few occasions. The electricians who have been called in to investigate the problem refer to it as a mystery. I call it my guilty secret.

I suppose that what I am about to describe is really a form of meditation. First, you need to find a place to sit still, close your eyes and start listening intensely. Listen to every bird call, every cricket chirp, every distant train rumble and every tick of the clock. This focused listening engenders the feeling of being fully present while the ego goes absent and your consciousness is filled with something other than yourself. Take a deep breath and, addressing either the spirits in general or someone whom you have loved who has passed over, put in your requests for guidance, confirmation and help for yourself and/or others. It is not dissimilar to praying; only you are speaking directly to the spirits yourself without using the church or a god as an intermediary. This meditation must be done in an atmosphere of sincere, well intentioned emotional intensity. Love is usually the emotion which breaks through the most easily but anguish, frustration and remorse have worked for me in the past too. In fact, if our hearts are sufficiently anguished we can break through simply by shouting out, either literally or mentally. This is exactly why so much emotional energy is released at the time of a disaster - all those people, intense, desperate, thinking of loved ones and calling out for help together.

Personally, I have never received a message from spirit whilst meditating. This is purely a time for me to put my questions and requests forward to those in the afterlife. I have learned that if you need help with something in your life then you do actually have to ask for it. Even though the spirits are telepathically aware of your thoughts, they will not intervene unless you specifically request it. This is why, although Pops had been dead for over twenty years, he had never come through with his "Penny Black" code word. Obviously, before me, no-one had ever directly requested it of him.

It is difficult to maintain this heightened state of spiritual awareness for any length of time and can be likened to the tiring, sustained effort of treading water. It is for this reason that for most of the time I appear, and definitely am, completely ordinary, going about a regular, normal life, filled with everyday thoughts, tasks and concerns. It is for this reason too that I cannot, and do not, claim to be psychic. True psychics or mediums are able to tune in and out of this perceptive state at will and they receive complete messages. Genuine psychics also seem to be largely born with a sixth sense, inter spiritual communication gifts and a full awareness of the spirit world already intact.

I, on the other hand, am somewhat of a novice who usually only receives part messages (which is most frustrating and sometimes temporarily perplexing), often in response to the anguish emanating from seemingly random disasters and always at the initiation of, and through, those on "the other side". This started me thinking. Why hadn't I received any sort of message regarding the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center? Surely the volume of anguish, fear, evil and love radiating from that horrific disaster must have been an extreme zentih of emotional energy release? Had I merely been inaccessible and not yet listening?

Then it hit me. I HAD received a strong, complete clairaudient message on that fateful day. Only, at the time, I'd had no way of confirming it. Quickly I ran to the computer and pressed "Google" search.
