Feather's Miscellany: Hymn For The Grieving

John Waddington-Featherís hymn brings sustenance to the bereaved.

With you beside I fear not death,
But grieve the death of others;
Who now have left this Earthly life,
My sisters and my brothers.

But we remain, live out our lives
Within the void they leave;
Where only memories are left of them
As we are left to grieve.

By faith alone we are sustained,
For Christ himself did die
A cruel death upon a cross,
Then rose again on high.

Be with us, Lord, in times of grief,
And lift us with your love,
Bring comfort with your presence here
Till we are called above.
