Away With Worry: Further Circles

Angela Black's poem concerns the awful symmetry of Nature.

The globe of the Sun, the bowl of the Moon
The rings of the stars, Infinity's dome
The cicle of the sea and sky where they meet
Tip of a phallus, warm depths of a womb
A cot and a plot and a hedge and a home.

Pit of a furnace, black well of a mine
Spiked arena, prison's ringed rage
Labyrinth of circular suburban streets
Tip of a whip, steel torture of a cage
The round of a desk and a task and a wage.
