Factory farming is nasty for animals and bad for us. Instead of eating what grows in the British countryside, factory farmed animals consume massive amounts of feed. A key ingredient of the feed is soy, most of which comes from large plantations in South America. Rain forest is cleared to make way for those plantations, leading to loss of wildlife habitats and increased CO2 emissions. It's a huge problem and hard to see how folk in Cowley can make a difference. Yet there are things we can do.
