The Scrivener: The Beeple Who Said "Boo!''

Brian Barratt bring us another delightful story for children. This tale of a Beeple who was eager for adventure begs to be read aloud.
A Beeple wanted to do something exciting.
‘What shall I do?’ the Beeple asked.
Nobody answered, because nobody was there.
‘I know! I shall go and say BOO!’
The Beeple walked up to a tree. It was a very tall tree with long branches.
The Beeple stood in front of the tree and said, ‘BOO!’
The tree asked, ‘Why did you do that?’
‘Because it is exciting,’ said the Beeple.
The tree answered, ‘Well, I do not think it is exciting. Go and say BOO somewhere else.’
‘Were you scared?’ asked the Beeple.
The tree laughed. ‘Scared? No, of course not!’
‘Not even a little bit scared?’ asked the Beeple.
The tree replied, ‘Not even a tiny little bit. Now please go away.’
And so the Beeple walked away.
‘I shall go and say BOO somewhere else,’ said the Beeple.
The Beeple walked up to an elephant. It was a very large elephant with a long trunk.
The Beeple stood in front of the very large elephant and said, ‘BOO!’
The very large elephant asked, ‘Why did you do that?’
‘Because it is exciting,’ said the Beeple.
The very large elephant answered, ‘Well, I do not think it is exciting. Go and say BOO somewhere else.’
‘Were you scared?’ asked the Beeple.
The very large elephant laughed. ‘Scared? No, of course not!’
‘Not even a little bit scared?’ asked the Beeple.
The very large elephant replied, ‘Not even a tiny little bit. Now please go away.’
And so the Beeple walked away.
‘I shall go and say BOO somewhere else,’ said the Beeple.
The Beeple walked up to a beetle. It was a very small beetle with six legs.
The Beeple stood in front of the very small beetle with six legs and said, ‘BOO!’
The very small beetle with six legs asked, ‘Why did you do that?’
‘Because it is exciting,’ said the Beeple.
The very small beetle with six legs answered, ‘Well, I do not think it is exciting. Go and say BOO somewhere else.’
‘Were you scared?’ asked the Beeple.
The very small beetle with six legs laughed. ‘Scared? No, of course not!’
‘Not even a little bit scared?’ asked the Beeple.
The very small beetle with six legs replied, ‘Not even a tiny little bit. Now please go away.’
And so the Beeple walked away.
'I cannot scare a tree. I cannot scare an elephant. I cannot even scare a very small beetle with six legs,’ said the Beeple.
‘Why aren’t they scared when I say BOO?’
Nobody answered, because nobody was there.
‘Perhaps I am not a very exciting Beeple,’ said the Beeple.
So the Beeple walked to a mirror and looked at itself.
‘BOO!’ said the Beeple to itself in the mirror.
The Beeple was so scared that it fell over, got up again, and ran away.
