A Fistful Of Stars: Rainbow Moments
Indian poet Hariharan Balakrishnan conjures another memorable wonder from mere words.
Remember that day, do you my child
I blew the first bubble for you
From fragrant soap and water pure
And blew just ‘nothing' into it?
The bubble grew and shone so bright
In that beam of bright sunlight
How you marveled, how you laughed
And jumped in plain and pure delight!
At the growing globe the rainbow colours
That went round and round
With not a thought- no care, no fear
For that nothingness within
Then the bubble burst with a gentle tup
Spraying nothing, only fragrance
Recall the rainbow, savour the smell
Forget nothingness- the void
That came from ‘nowhere’, goes ‘nowhere’
