Feather's Miscellany: Snowdrops

John Waddington-Feather brings a poem appropriate to the season.

Pearls of wisdom poking through the snow,
telling us that Spring is on the way;
yearly you come to give us cheer
within the deep depressing winter,
daring its frost and snow
while we hug fast our fireside indoors
and watch its warm worlds glow.

More than any forecast that the weathermen may make
your silent tiny witness in my wood
foretells much better things to come:
warmth and light, resurrection life, Easter.
