Feather's Miscellany: Epiphany Prayer Poem

“Grant that we, with overmuch, may give to those with less than little,’’ writes John Waddington-Feather.

Came they, those kings from eastern lands,
came they in faith and following a star,
came they to Bethlehem and saw him there,
a babe in Mary’s arms.

They gave him gifts of gold,
of frankincense and myrrh;
they gave him majesty
and priestliness - and death.

Grant that we, with overmuch,
may give to those with less than little,
as freely as the kings gave to Christ,
a newborn, helpless babe,
who freely gave himself for us,
our Lord and our Redeemer. Amen.
