Feather's Miscellany: The Heavens Sing Out

John Waddington-Feather brings us a poem, a hymn of joy, based on Psalm 19.

The heavens sing out the glory of God,
the universe his creation;
each day tells the next of his love,
each night fills the sky with elation.

They donít utter a single word,
yet speak to the ends of the world;
in them has God made a silent shrine
where all his light is unfurled.

It goes from end to end of heaven,
and nothing is hid from its heat;
it shines like a champion running a race
or the face of a bridegroom at feast.

Let the words of my mouth, the thoughts of my heart
be always worthy of you,
O Lord, my strength and my redeemer,
Who restores my soul anew.
