Feather's Miscellany: English Summer

God-made this summer day,
The whole of heaven at play...

John Waddington-Feather gives thanks for a perfect English summer's day.

Idyllic this summerís day Ė
An English meadow in hay,
The balmy air all scent-filled,
And the skylarkís constant song spilled
Far and wide this fine summerís day.

God-made this summer day,
The whole of heaven at play
A while on earth, as God shows
Us such living beauty that grows
Splendour this glorious summerís day.

Give us the grace this day
To thank you, Lord, we pray,
For all the blessings of your love
And the beauty from above
That you grant to us every day.
