A Fistful Of Stars: Dawn And Dusk

Hariharan Balakrishnan's evocative poem tells of the most beauiful sights on Earth.

There is a poet in everyone
In every face, in every smile
Rising like the ocean tide
Sometimes at dawn, others at dusk

Rising tide or setting sun
Aroused, angered or calm serene
Taking the shape of a majestic hood
Of sight and sound and breathing beauty

Or the shape of a rainless bow
After the rain has ceased to be
To shine and dazzle after it pours
To show its fleeting beauty, power

Or that sunset's western bend
To say that dusk is beautiful too
The most beautiful sights on earth
Are sparkling smiles-at dawn or dusk
