Open Features: Finding Happiness

Happiness is something we will find more easily through our faith and through our diligence.

Do you remember Corrie ten Boom? She was a survivor of the Nazi concentration camp. And she wrote something about worry that could help each of us. She said: "Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow; it empties today of its strength."

As we worry we deplete our own energies.

As we worry we affect our organs and our peace of mind.

As we worry we stress our physical and mental and emotional self and we often become sharp with the very people who wish to love us and comfort us.

No wonder Christ asked us to place our burdens with Him. Trusting in him!

"Cast thy burden upon the Lord and He shall sustain thee."
(also see Matthew 11:28 -30)

May we always remind one another of the pointlessness and uselessness of worry.

My daughter Laurie recently said, "I will be taken care of, the universe will take care of me!"

She was speaking of not worrying about things that she could not find time to even think about.

When we reach out to God , He will be the wind beneath our wings. And he will surely lift off our burdens!

May we not allow worry to empty us of our strength. And may we shore up one another often, and always.
