One day I told an elder friend
"I shall not write any more of verse"
He arched his eye and said to me
"That means you haven't suffered enough"
He is a poet par excellence
Writes from his heart for the entire world
Lauded beyond his home and shore
That's what he said to me
We were together on a train
For thirty hours and more
That was when I did not know
What he meant, but only spoke
Today I know, but do I know?
Yet, I want to tell him this:
"Yes, I will not stop, my friend.
I would rather suffer more"
So these lines, these words and more
For you and you and You
Are a tribute to one poet true
Whose verse is beyond my ken
