Feather's Miscellany: Easter Hymn

John Waddington-Feather brings us the words of an Easter hymn. We hope someone is inspired to write music to go with these words.

Inspired by your mighty Word
I pen these lines to vaunt your glory;
Enlightened by the Gospelsí truth
We learn to live by Christís own story:

His miracles performed in life,
His death upon a cruel cross,
His offering for all our sins,
The giving of his life for us,

His rising when he rose and showed
He was indeed Godís only Son,
Sent to redeem sad, fallen folk,
All by his Resurrection won.

Sing in, sing in this glorious day
Of Godís new world set free from strife;
Away with malice and all wrong,
Sing in with joy this Day of Life!
