Dr Ron's Laughter Clinic: Signpost

Ron Pataky considers a most significant signpost.

Searching for life as we probe the expanse
Can weary a man if he gives it a chance
This thing of creation, so deep, dark and still
One can't help but ponder what's over the hill

But the chances of other life much like our own
Get dimmer and slimmer as new probes are sown
One scientist reckons when all's said and done
That the gamble is roughly a zillion to one

So how do we deal with this most recent case?
Just received back from a camera in space
There on a red slope 'gainst millions of stars
Is a signpost that clearly reads "Welcome to Mars''
