Eric Shackle Writes: Titanic To Sail Again?

Eric Shackle brings news of an exciting project to build a replica of the Titanic.

Australian billionaire Clyde Palmer owns coalmines, nickel deposits, a theme park on the Gold Coast with animated dinosaurs (to be open to the public next year), and even a football team (until last year).

He has arranged for a Chinese shipyard to build a full-scale replica of the ill-fated British liner Titanic, which hit an iceberg on its maiden voyage in 1912 with the loss of more than 1500 lives. A few people have already booked accommodation for the maiden voyage.

Palmer now hopes to enter politics, so he formed a party that took part in the recent Federal elections.

He doesn’t mince words. He once called the Chinese wife of a certain media tycoon a spy.
